Human Salvation

“The salvation of this human world lies nowhere else than in the human heart, in the human power to reflect, in human meekness and human responsibility.”

–Vaclav Havel

What have you seen lately that gives you faith in the possibility that humans could save “this human world”?

  1. I saw that one car maker has created a concept car that runs on compressed air. At least someone is trying.

  2. Reflection and meekness aren’t nearly as important as courageous action. Consider the Greenpeace people risking their lives to save the great whales and the unarmed demonstrators in Tianamon Square facing down tanks and dying in order to make a statement.

  3. The Dalai Lama embodies the qualities of the human heart, the human power to reflect, human meekness and human responsibility. His powerful yet simple message is a living reminder of the spiritual path that we should strive to follow. His loving courage in the face adversity is proof that “meek and weak” are not synonymous. He has touched and changed many lives. His theology of kindness is contagious. I find hope in the fact that he is loved and accepted by so many.

  4. Good question! Where have I been personally and observed those hopeful signs??? Can’t think of anyplace. Well, not since GA.
