What looks from one perspective like a hatchet job, a cataclysmic loss of limbs, can be regarded from another point of view as necessary pruning that will allow for new growth.
How has choosing to give something up allowed you to make room for something new?
Knowing that the pruning was necessary, grateful for the beginnings of new growth, the journey from cataclysm to healing is far from over. I am committed to the road.
It is much easier to appreciate the pruning when we are the ones decide where and when to prune. Too often we resist our own responsibility to prune until someone else takes the pruning tools out of our hands and does the necessary work. Then it seems like a “hatchet job.”
