I think it is all a matter of love; the more you love a memory the stronger and stranger it becomes.
―Vladimir Nabokov
Do you have a memory that has grown stronger and stranger with time?

I had a transcendental experience during a musical performance circa 1980. The band was in perfect sync and the acoustics of the room during that song resulted in a vibration that elevated my consciousness. I felt like an observer instead of a performer and a conduit for the music. It was effortless and very surreal and I’m certain it only lasted for a few seconds but it felt much longer than that. It was exhilarating and very satisfying. I’ve always imagined that must be what real genius experiences on a regular basis. So here I am, still reflecting on a few beats of a tune I played in a bar 33 years ago and hoping to someday recapture the moment. For the record, no chemicals were involved. It was a completely natural event which makes it a very special moment for me.
