In the Jewish calendar Tu B’Shevat marks the new year for trees (as opposed to the new year for the universe/calendar, which happens in the fall at Rosh Hashana). Why have a new year for trees at a time when you couldn’t possibly hope for blossoms? Perhaps because the new year happens when things are very first in bud, not when they start to unfold.
What in your life in is bud?
Do the trees know about this???
