Within hours of birth a baby horse is up and walking—even running—around. Often new ideas require massive amounts of tinkering and trials in order to work, but on occasion they arrive fully formed, ready to run out in the world.
What have you created that seemed miraculously complete, right from the start?
A dear friend shared with me the structure she uses for journaling. I took to it immediately because it felt like a spiritual practice. I have been journaling for years, writing three pages of random thoughts, which occasionally was helpful but not always meaningful. This new structure is a gift, a spiritual practice. It gives my writing intention. At the end of the day I check back in and briefly record my responses to the day, the actions I took that were helpful to myself, my family, and others.
