“Each patient carries his own doctor inside him. They come to us not knowing this truth. We are at our best when we give the doctor who resides within each patient a chance to go to work.” —Albert Schweitzer
What does the doctor who lives inside you have to say?
My internal medicine man (lol) says what my grandmother always said: eat right, go outside and play, get to bed and wake up with the rooster. I feel it in may subtle ways when I’m not following that advice.
A significant reason for my own malaise is simple inactivity. My daughter has challenged me to join her in her quest to walk 10,000 steps per day. It is my estimate that that is close to 5 and a half miles per day. With my 23 minute miles that is about 2hrs an fifteen minutes walking per day. My daughter runs so it doesn’t take so much time, but I am eighty and less spry so I plan to do half of that which I have managed pretty well. And It seems to work! I have two sessions about an hour and ten minutes and I find that I enjoy walking in my beautiful East Texas and I am less out of sorts the rest of the time. Cheers, Jay Mack
For two months I have had pain in my abdominal area. 8 doctors don’t even understand what I’m talking about and images reveal nothing. So I have analyzed the components of the problem and am treating each one individually. I’ve made great progress!
