A lobster trap lures the unsuspecting crustacean into what looks like a cozy spot, but then it turns out it’s next to impossible to get out. Some of us have the same experience with things like Facebook, video games or television.
What traps you?

I do often find myself trapped by all of those you mentioned (ahem, Netflix) but I find the stickiest traps to be internal dialogues, such as self doubt.
Computer solitaire games have been very addictive for me. What a mindless trap! I have been working on weaning myself from them, and this post may help. Dumping my links to them would probably also help. But I need to think about why they have trapped me, and what I can do to substitute, such as my genealogy research that has been sorely neglected.
Anxiety and depression trap me more than anything, but they don’t look like cozy spots. At this time, I’m not sure anything looks cozy and then traps me. In the past, free cell, books, message boards, chat rooms, and cutting have all done so.
