Each year the World Health Organization focuses on a topic for World Health Day—this year is food safety. Which is great. But it would also be great if today each of us thought about any one thing we could do to bring a little bit of health and vibrance to our own lives, or to our community.
What is one thing you do to foster health?
Some years ago, I challenged a co-worker to stop smoking at work for a month and I would give her a dollar a day if successful. She did, and I did. However, it didn’t do the trick then but with our nation’s alertness to the dangers of smoking and her problems with coughing and congestion, she later listened to a doctor’s advice and has stopped. I can tell people to do this because I smoked for years and was able to stop so I think that other people can do it.
