It often seems like the grass is greener, the people cooler, on the other side of the fence. But if we are lucky, someone or something grounds us right where we are.
Who or what helps you to feel at home?

My dog grounds me.
“The other side of the fence.” What is the perceived or imagined obstacle to greener grass? Is it the obstacle that makes the grass appear greener? Is it an merely an excuse for not pursuing what we truly seek?
Warren, I think that the “greener grass on the other side” can be one of two things: (1) wishful thinking or (2) a revelation of what a person really wants and may try for.
Through the years, I seem to have carried “home” with me, unencumbered by place or obligation or preference. Although recently, I have been established in a semi- permanent location, I still think of my home as inside me. I believe that even with friendships and conveniences near to me, I would be “at home” in another place, with other people and with other opportunities for interests and activities. Time and situation will tell if this turns out to be true.
