Rain is Grace

Wet Branch“Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life.”

What kind of weather feels to you like grace?

  1. When a soft wind wanders through the air and suddenly nudges me, it feels like a message from somewhere. It drifts and waves suddenly and is so gentle. Sometimes it is just for me! The other elements nearby, the trees, a windmill, the budding flowers, are still as the wind seeks just me to bring pleasantries to as a gift.

  2. Mist/fog feels almost magical to me, but I’m not sure that’s the same thing as grace.

All types of weather natural to a specific climate are necessary for the organisms that evolved to live in that climate. The climate change is negatively impacting many organisms because they weren’t built for this new climate. Every colder day pleases me because it slows the damage (and because I personally like cold more than heat). However, it won’t stop the change/damage. Drastic changes in human behavior might help; would that then be grace to the rest of the world? Or would it only be grace if it weren’t coming from those who caused the destruction?

    1. I think that grace offered in whatever form and by anyone or anything can have a positive effect, Martin.
