Not always, but sometimes(!), I find that in ordinary conversation, I introduce a subject that I think is an unusual topic, or one that “I’m up on?” and there we are, the two of us carrying on an extraordinary conversation that includes parts that neither of us knew about before. Perhaps I feel arrogant when I bring up the topic, but afterward, I feel rewarded that we could discuss it together. Gifts come dropping into one’s life unexpectedly.
