The swan is our perfect image of grace—the long, elegant neck, the snowy plumage, the stately effortless movement through the water. Until the swan chooses to exit the water, and shows its ungainly waddle. It turns out that for even those who seem to move through life with the most grace, it depends a lot on what moment you’re looking.
When do you feel at your most graceful?
Gracefulness, to me, is when one’s body is relaxed, comfortable and without resistance. As I mention often, being in Tai Chi positions and mindfulness allows me to have that feeling of grace so that I appreciate my body more than at other times. Also, I believe that when I’m kissing someone whom I love I have the feeling of gracefulness, linking together with another in a loving way.
