What a lovely thing it is to rove through an extensive garden, choosing what will go in your salad, knowing that there is enough to share with friends. What you have to choose from, what you have to share, is a product of what you choose to grow.
What will you cultivate today?
This made me smile and wax nostalgic. I now live in a 6th floor apartment and my garden is limited to a handful of pots – and – I have ONE cultivated black pepper (actually dark purple) that’s ready to share so it’s going with me to visit my son today. In my last city, I had a house with a yard and raised planting beds where I grew and shared peppers, corn, basils, beets, squash, strawberries, snap peas, lettuces, and do I miss that. Cultivating to share, guess I cultivate crocheted things and things made with clay and with beads, paint and so on…and cultivate relationships of all kinds. Gardener at heart.
Layne, this makes you sound like such an interesting person!
I cultivated “support for another” on this day. I have spent much of my life as almost a loner, responsible for myself. Only one other time did I assume complete responsibility for someone…my mom. Now I have the opportunity to help someone younger in attaining his life goal of working in his chosen profession. May I be up to the task. I surely have some wisdom to impart to him as he searches for his contribution to the field of chemistry.
