Jumping on the Bridge

JumpingOnTheBridgeThe joy of a small suspension bridge is that you can bounce on it, sending a wave of motion down the length to jog whoever might be further along than you. Of course we know that our actions have an impact on others, but we rarely get to see the effect so directly.

  1. I have jumped on a bridge such as this. Also this year, the Smithsonian Folk Festival in D.C. had its country theme as Peru, where suspension bridges were built very carefully by hand of fibers to span deep chasms. I wonder if they bothered to stop and jump as they crossed over. My little jump today will be to encourage a friend who is venturing into a new chapter of her life by attending a journaling workshop which will bring her closer to her understanding of herself, I believe. Often one step or jump leads to another…and another…
