On New Year’s Eve it is traditional to create resolutions of how we will be or do better in the year to come. On New Year’s Day it is traditional to break those resolutions. Maybe it would be better to use New Year’s Eve as a time to reflect on what in our lives is ready to open naturally into a new beginning.
What in your life do you feel will be opening soon?
I’m counting on my acceptance of changes in my life that will affect my relationships at many levels: with my friends; with my home life; with my community relationship activities; with my willingness to support political events; as well as other connections I have held firm during my 20 year retirement. I believe that both my physical as well as mental abilities will cause me to change my perspective about what I want to do and can do. this does not mean that this kind of shift will absolve me from following other worthwhile and satisfying activities and projects but they will be more achievable through personal, more private efforts. It may sound like “giving up” but that’s not what I’m planning. Wish me luck!
