Infinity in the Palm of Your Hand

And a Heaven in a Wild Flower

And Eternity in an hour

What is something very small that gives you a connection to something very large?

  1. Thanks that I have even more than one small thing to see all that exists around me! I’m referring to my eye (or eyes). Recently I have found out that a friend has vision in only one eye: this means that he still has an opportunity( although limited) to see, try to understand and enjoy the world around him. Another friend lost his vision as a young man from an infection; he and I are able to communicate in a different way but still with great understanding between us. I also remember Laura helping her sister Mary who was blind to enjoy their walks together in the prairie fields in the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. So today I feel especially grateful that I have, to date, retained my sight through small apertures to see what come my way.

  2. I am a birder, and I often find that the tiniest birds give me the most blissful, mystically connected feelings. Birds like warblers in sprig plumage, ruby-crowned kinglets, brown creepers.
