What piece of knowledge inspires a sense of wonder and mystery in you?

  1. I watched a PBS program last night that described how research is ongoing in training crocodiles in an African country near a river where there have been many human deaths by crocodile attack. The researchers say that crocodiles (even with small brains the size of a walnut) have a higher level of intelligence that once thought (by humans ). If they can train crocs to negatively respond to a bell (perhaps attached to an electric shock on the snout) they can save human as well as croc lives. The mystery is that this training is possible but also it is difficult for me to feel as they do, that crocs are a beautiful knowledgeable animal. Now that I think of it, I wonder what conception crocs have of humans.

  2. I watch a lot of science and nature shows. I saw one about undersea creatures that produce substances that fight cancer. It made me feel like God has strewn Easter eggs around creation, there’s always more for us to find. And then there is outer space, so much more than we’ll ever know about. The more I know about science, the more I am in awe of the Creator.
