  1. When I am in a conference and voice either a comment/ question for clarification; or another interpretation of a comment already made; or a suggestion that seems impossible to conceive of and voice it during the ongoing discussion; almost every time I offer something other than an agreement with the original one, people seem to act as though I am completely against the first proposal. They challenge me as though I do not accept the first original comment. This isn’t true: I see certain aspects that would perhaps clarify the original comment; present an addition that I think would strengthen the comment or sometimes I truly don’t think the original comment is the right one to follow. I think I understand why people see some of my actions as arguments since they do not understand that I am still considering the original comment and after discussion, I may very well accept and vote for the original comment. I must think it’s healthy to have a discussion about a subject before it is passed. I think this an excellent way to get as much about the topic out on the table before the vote. I think that this is a hidden quality that I can offer. However, I am realizing while I am writing this that there must be sometime wrong with the manner in which I present my comments; I don’t seem to know how to offer related thoughts so that the group does not see them as argumentative or negative challenges. That means something IS hidden!! (From me, too)
