The Unitarian Universalist fellowship to which I belong in a Midwest community of about 40,000 seems to be the place where I have the sense of looking outward with other members in hope. We represent a small portion of spiritual believers in this community as a liberal movement but are achieving a sense of belonging with the largely conservative whole simply by putting ourselves out there as who we are and finding the similarities instead of the differences.
