Web-weaving spiders don’t hunt down their prey. They carefully prepare their web, and then they simply wait to see what will arrive, taking everything as it comes.

The one element of my lif that I actively prepared for was when I made the decision to return to the University of Kansas to obtain an additional Bachelor’s Degree, this time in Art Education. This followed an earlier degree of a general BA with an Art major. With the Art Education degree I knew that I would become a teacher of art and followed my study as an Elementary Art Consultant in a small community in southeastern Kansas, near the Oklahoma border. It was an experience that provided a great deal of satisfaction to me professionally as I had the freedom and opportunity to arrange my contacts with students and teachers in six elementary schools; I engaged not only the students but also the classroom teachers in projects that I believe they and I enjoyed mutually. This satisfaction has remained with me as a major part of my feeling of a degree of success in my life.
