There’s another train
There always is
Maybe the next one is yours
Get up and climb aboard
Another train

What do you do when you’re waiting for another train?

Another train coming!! It would be a good song title, right? I can think of three things that might enter my mind: (1) I’m expectant, thinking that this next trip will be even more than I’m hoping for: (2) anticipating that there will be some great good surprises along the way once I’m on board and (3) hesitant to think of accidents that I know and understand may happen.
If it’s a literal next train, (like the commuter rail from Worcester to Boston, a two-hour ride I enjoy) I use the waiting time to use the ladies’ room, buy a snack, and either stand outside in the sun if it’s nice out or huddle inside by the door if it’s not.
If it’s a metaphorical train, I have to watch to make sure I don’t miss it, and try to be prepared for it. Lately, the trains I want to be on have been coming, but without the advanced degree or the driver’s license, I can’t get on. Yet.
Maggie, here’s a wish for you that your “hoped for train” will show up and you’ll jump right on so it can take you to your heart’s desire!
