  1. Because I have turned into a NIGHT OWL in my retirement years, I often wait until after midnight to go to bed. Luckily I have a room that doesn’t allow street noises into it but sometimes even for a former big city girl, I hear the sounds of nocturnal life through my one open window to the fresh air. But “as I lay MYSELF down to sleep” I think of the millions who are on the run with no good place to slumber or in other situations that deny them with a good night’s sleep. I try to help in various ways to help alleviate this lack for them within a local group we have helping the homeless, I still allow myself the luxury of a spot where I can relax, even though I sometimes hear the railroad horn sounding on a not too distant track .
