It seems a little unfair. Generally we delight in flowers, admiring their beauty and expecting nothing more. But who can look at a strawberry blossom and not think forward to the strawberry to come? With luck we will all be something more glorious later on, but that’s no reason to fail to admire who we are right now.
What “not yet” part of your life do you appreciate?
As I age, I believe that there are times when my experience counts for others younger or less experienced than I. Perhaps they can benefit from what I may have to say. It’s difficult to hold back, though, when something is perceived that isn’t asked for. Best to do that, however, I think. no one changes until it happens internally. I don’t want to be the kind of “oldster” who says “Well, you should…..”.
