A compass can tell you which way is north, which might help you to find your way. But it won’t get you across the water if you need a boat.

Hummm. I was about to say that its the lack of commitment and a desire for momentum that I need to head forward but, come to think of it, if I made myself do more research and training in the techniques and resources that would let me get on the right wave links to get where I’d like to be, that might turn out to be a major answer to my quest. Maybe a combination; this is something for my consideration certainly.
