Sometimes you want to mix it up a little bit, just because you can.
What do you do just for the sake of adding variety to your life?

Take classes in different disciplines and fields, training in a different career area.
I am currently in the position of having been retired from my major job with the MO State Library for over 20 years. How time flies. Recently I have had a “sea change” in mobility, eating with dentures, using hearing aids and a cane; those contraptions that just happen in older age to some.
I also lost my dear partner/friend recently to death. Well, I have time and I think (and hope) that I have enough $$ reserve to see me through but one never knows. I have belonged to multiple volunteer organizations and done some traveling during retirement. However, what I seem to be addicted to is “quirky and fun shopping for gadgets” and strange things like skin tattoos etc. (Second childhood(?), but I’ve always liked funny things to surprise friends so I now get my kicks from inconsequential purchases along with necessary meds. I’m also thinking of ways I can support causes from home instead of attending a series of meetings. So there!
