Reality as we generally conceive of it is a world of land and air and gravity. But more of our planet is ocean than land, and many of our world’s beings only know floating in a world of water. It’s easy to assume that the world we know is the only “real” world, but our vision could be limited.
When have you been surprised to find the world was different than the way you had assumed it to be?
Beautiful photo. Reminded me of the first ever time I went snorkelling, somewhere warm with a reef, and colours. And the silence, the deep still quiet of underwater after the noisy chop of wind and wave at the surface.
Later I met some people who had been scuba diving in the same area at the precise time when there had been an earthquake in the immediate vicinity; they said the noise of this once in a lifetime event was literally indescribable….
I had always though that sandy places, like a part of a desert or sometimes a beach would be smooth and even. When I was in Peru, I was on the way to the Pacific shore, but along the way, the land to either side of the highway was a series of crescents sculpted by the the wind. It was not like anything I had even seen before and I had to convince myself that it was a natural and not a human design.
