Never. I have always regretted breaking a promise. I continue to regret that; someday I may be able to forgive myself but not yet.
Never. I have several times in my life not followed through on a promise I made to another person or to myself and then didn’t follow up on it. So far I’ve not forgiven my self. Maybe some time I’ll get over the sense of guilt. I am trying not to make a promise that I almost certainly know I probably know I won’t keep. I think I do it to make myself feel good about making it and that’s part of the problem.
