Why have a day devoted to tom-foolery and silliness? Maybe because as grownups we tend to become set in our ways, and it’s good for us to have random surprises and nonsense break through to remind us not to get too attached to our assumptions about how the world is.
When has a joke or prank shifted your perspective?
My “funny” is HATS. All are not really funny but when I wear an obviously different hat, some vintage, others always comment…some complimentary, others questioning! The one I bought at a craft show today is a flying pig one; with a string below the chin, the wearer can pull the string and wings on the pink pig hat flap its wings!! amazing in construction and I WILL wear it, probably to a UUF service, especially when I will be the pianist for the service. I like to do silly, show-off things, especially now as I’m more bold in my ripening age. Just realized while writing this, I believe I would have been a good clown!?
