Carving is the art of making things beautiful by taking bits away.
What has become more beautiful to you by having less of it?

I’ve spent much of the last week cleaning and reorganizing my home, especially the living room. Getting rid of many VHS tapes and DVDs meant the ones left fit on the shelves tidily. Getting rid of what was in a pile on the floor (for lack of a permanent spot) means it’s easier to walk around on this shiny hardwood floor.
Someone else will be happy to have the stuff. The thrift store will make money for charity with it.
Maggie, you inspire me!
At various times in my life, I have varied how much hair I have. I still own a “golden” braid from childhood; I have drawings of me with a “Veronica Lake ” swoop across my brow and other attempts to look charming. When I was in South America in the Peace Corps, I let my hair grow long again and in one long braid in back. Now I am back to almost the same style which is a neat bob style that I see in a photo of me at about three years of age. I like less rather than more; funny how one thing like hair can make one feel at different times!
