The Passover Seder celebrates the story of Jews who managed to walk out from the safety of a known, but oppressive, situation into an unknown wilderness—and eventually to a Promised Land as a new people of covenant.

  1. My Peace Corps service permeates my life. In the early 60s, teaching art in a small Kansas town, I could have stayed there and felt secure and happy. However, I chose to leave that behind for two years and by doing that, I recognized my personal state of freedom which changed the rest of my life.
