Not Enough

There is a movement these days toward de-cluttering, or downsizing possessions enough to move into a tiny, ultra-efficient house. 1. Although I do not live frugally, and enjoy opportunities now that I’m retired, to go places ad buy things that please me, I have always tried to live within my means so that I am not in debt. This has varied over my lifetime; I remember once while working on an advanced college degree, that I decided to put cardboard liners in my loafer shoes rather than buy a new pair. However, in defining the basics I think it is obvious: shelter, food, health care, transportation, ways to be in contact with other human beings.
