Small Flight

We humans dream of flying, of soaring like hawks on outstretched arms. But mostly we hop, rather than soar. We launch ourselves up, and promptly come back to earth. Perhaps these tiny moments of flight are just as glorious as the unattainable soaring, if only for the fact that we can actually make them happen.

What small victory will you celebrate today?

  1. I am a nontraditional secondary math education student. My greatest struggle being back in school has been with math classes that primarily involve writing proofs. I am currently taking a basic course in mathematical thinking. The goal is to help improve my understanding of the fundamentals of the purposes of proofs and the way they are written. I will celebrate a small improvement in my understanding of the language of proofs.

  2. a small victory that I am currently celebrating is this: having been advised to follow a physical regimen twice a day for “the rest of my life”, I settled in definitely today into a doable pattern and have the feeling that I can do so; it helps a lot in strengthening my legs which is important.
