In times of vulnerability, when it feels like we are utterly exposed to the elements, the alternative to running and hiding can be to turn our backs to the wind, to find a way to protect ourselves enough to remain until the weather shifts.
What makes you feel less vulnerable when you need more safety?
I believe that it depends upon the environment; if I am in a place where there are other people, I move close to those whom I think will serve as a shield and/or be willing to help me. I believe in INTERDEPENDENCE, which means I do not hesitate to ask for help when I think I need it because I think it will be easier for everyone involved than having something more serious happen. If I am solitary, I choose what I can see as the best way that I can try to get out of the situation on my own; just writing this last thought gives me fear.
