“An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.”
― Henry David Thoreau
What ordinary practice is a blessing for your day?

However I call “early morning” I find that when I get out of bed I start a rather predictable wandering through the house to open shades at many of the windows. This, I believe, is because I am curious what weather the day seems to be providing. The next step is to open the front door and, on opening the screen door, find out how the weather feels. Both senses give me a key to what the environment will provide for me that day. I like the ritual; it is actually a liberating moment.
One of the first things I do after I open my computer for the day is have a look at The Good News Network ezine, which reports only good news.
I read and sometimes respond to Daily Compass, and read the UCC Daily Devotionals.
