We learn the confidence to take risks through the experience of encountering new things in a way that feels safe. Our best supporters don’t shield us from risk, they give us the courage to meet risk knowing that we are not alone.
Who has supported you into courage?
I have had help from a friend of mine whom I have known for 35 to 40 years. We live in neighboring communities and often see each other. She has the courage to tell me “like it is” and why she will support but challenge me regarding my relationship with a homeless victim. I need her challenge to help me get through this battle so that I can choose the best path to follow.
