Early on, I was supported in studying to play the piano by my parents. This path was followed by lessons at my college; another time when I chose to study more as an adult; and once when I worked as a waitress during my summer break from teaching school …to playing the piano in the bar(!!). Now, I have been helping as a Sunday Services pianist at my UU Fellowship group for about 10 years. Never having played for a group singing hymns, I learned “on the job” so to speak, and now am so glad that my connection with the piano has resulted in this achievement.
