Doorways to New Worlds

Every time my child complains about reading homework, I remind her that reading opens doorways to new worlds. Stories invite us to open our imaginations and teach us that something else might be possible if we can dream it. -Michael Tino (CLF)

When has a story transported you through a doorway to a new world?

  1. I learned to read when I was 4 y.o. and can read all day and evening if there is nothing else pressing to take care of. The characters in books become m y good friends or family, and I worry about them getting hurt or having happy surprises by the time the book ends. I have also “visited” many foreign places through books. I hope your child learns to love to read. It is the best learning experience and is relaxing, sos much better than screen use and develops your own imagination.
