Thinking Small

The other day, I asked what was the largest thing you could imagine. Today, I’m wondering how small we can imagine. Motes of dust, grains of sand, atoms of breath going in and out of our bodies, electrons spinning around nuclei, charm quarks. Imagine all of the unbelievably tiny parts that make you up.

Think small, and ground yourself in the reality of being.

The Biggest Thing

Our spiritual ancestors could not imagine a loving God worth worshipping who was not able to forgive even the most egregious evil perpetrated by humanity. Now, I know that many people have a problem imagining this kind of forgiveness being readily available, especially for acts of great evil and people whose lives seem to embody a readiness to commit evil deeds. And yet, that’s precisely the point—that the love of God is greater than we can imagine. Bigger than the human imagination. Almost unfathomable.

What is the biggest thing you can imagine?

Human Magic

“Imagination is human magic. It gives us the power to make mental pictures and feel feelings beyond the input of our senses. It helps us believe, remember, reason, fantasize and solve problems! Imagination misused fuels our fears, but more often it beckons us toward a better life.” -Suzelle Lynch

How has imagination beckoned you toward a better life?
