We each have things to teach, and we each have things to learn. Our lives are a journey of learning from one another, even at times that surprise us. Let us remain open to learning from everyone.
When did you learn something from someone who surprised you?
Unitarian Universalism, as a non-creedal faith, asks us to honor the diversity of beliefs in our communities, even when those beliefs are in conflict with one another. We are asked to do the hard work of building relationships across those differences and conflicts.
How have you moved forward with a relationship despite believing very different things?
Each of us brings a lifetime of experiences to bear on who we are and how we are in community. Sometimes, these experiences are different enough that we come to different answers to the same questions.
How do you honor that your experiences are different from those of others?
Our new proposed covenant asks us to celebrate our cultural diversity.
